Raw Results 15/2/21: Sheamus gets a step ahead on McIntyre

Sheamus made a huge statement on the final Monday Night Raw before the Elimination Chamber.

The Irishman was the last man left standing at the end of a gruelling gauntlet match in the night's main event - even pinning WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.

Sheamus and McIntyre have been building an intense rivalry on screen in recent weeks which looks set to form a huge part of the Chamber match this Sunday.

In the bout to determine who would enter the Chamber last, thus theoretically gaining a significant time and psychological advantage, McIntyre had already seen off AJ Styles - who beat Kofi Kingston in the opener - Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton, before falling victim to Sheamus at the last.

The 43-year-old posed with the Scot's gold as the show went off the air, insisting he's now the clear favourite going into the pay per view in just a few days time.

Kingston's inclusion in the match, meanwhile, was confirmed after The Miz curiously withdrew himself from the Chamber match. At the start of Raw, Miz had confronted Drew McIntyre and ate a Glasgow kiss for his troubles. Stressing he was raising the stakes, Miz pulled himself out of Sunday's show, seemingly looking to rely on a chance to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase instead.

Leaving one spot vacant, Miz pulled for John Morrison to take his place in the Chamber, with Kingston stating his own case. WWE official Adam Pearce made a match between the two to determine who would get their way, with Kingston nailing Trouble in Paradise to seal the victory.

Elsewhere on Raw, Lacey Evans fled Charlotte Flair's latest attempts to dish out some punishment to. In a tag team bout pitting Flair and Asuka against Peryton Royce and Evans, the latter insisted she wouldn't tangle with the Queen because she was pregnant - even suggesting that Flair's father Ric was the "Daddy." It has since been widely reported that Evans is in fact pregnant in real life and will be taking a break from active competition, though this news has yet to be confirmed by WWE.

In the night's other in-ring action, Shayna Baszler saw off an ambitious Lana via a submission, while the team of Matt Riddle and Lucha House Party overcome the Hurt Business after Riddle pinned the faction's erstwhile leader MVP - taking a post-match beat-down for his efforts.
